John Wannen

John is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in Washington, DC and the state of Maryland. He is a member of the AICPA Tax Division, the Maryland Association of CPAs, MACPA, the DC Estate Planning Council and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the worldwide professional association for practitioners dealing with family inheritance and succession planning. John is a 1970 graduate of the University of Maryland with a BS/BA in accounting. He received a direct commission in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and served at Malcolm Grow Hospital (Andrews AFB) through 1976. From December 1969 (internship) through November 1978, John was a member of Ernst & Young. He left EY to start his own practice, Wannen and Company, specializing in tax accounting and consultation with families and professional firms.

Mark Wannen

Mark is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia. His areas of practice include individual and business income taxation with a special interest in complex multi-state situations, financial planning, fiduciary accounting and taxation, IRS representation and trustee/executor services. Mark spent 7 years with Auth Brothers of Washington in various accounting and supply chain positions prior to receiving his BS degree from the University of Maryland and joined Wannen and Company in 1982. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), and the AICPA Tax Division.

Pamela Wannen
Pamela WannenController

Pam attended George Washington University and received her B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Maryland.  She served as controller of the law firm of Jones Day in Washington prior to joining Wannen and Company. Pam specializes in small business accounting, implementation of accounting systems, and controllership support.  She currently serves as controller of Kozusko Harris Duncan, a nationally recognized law firm, as well as trade associations, consulting firms, design firms and family offices.

Lois Wannen

Lois attended Bowling Green State University and received her B.S. degree in Finance. She served as proposal manager and financial analyst for Electronic Data Systems, Inc. (EDS). In addition to her knowledge of payroll and sales tax compliance issues, she specializes in small business accounting systems, including Quickbooks Enterprise, online sales and payroll.

Kit Wannen
Kit WannenManager

Kit graduated from Gettysburg College before spending eleven years in New York City. Kit began his professional career at Hughes Hubbard & Reed as a paralegal and later as Manager of Law School Recruitment. In 2012 he returned to Washington, joined his family at Wannen and Company and began his training as an accountant. Kit manages the Wannen and Company office, assists in the preparation of tax returns and in the controllership at Kozusko Harris Duncan and other small businesses. Kit studied accounting at George Washington University and continues to study at the University of Maryland in preparation for the CPA exam.
